Black area with LED bulbs

I just noticed a dark area in my headlight beams. It’s the first time I’ve drove in the dark since fitting my new headlights with LED bulbs.
I’m sure I read somewhere about being able to rotate the bulbs to get rid of this.
Is this the case? I can’t find the post I read about it and there’s like a million pages on headlights and bulbs.
Here’s a pic of the offending dark area. Seems to be just the drivers side.

If you've fitted LED bulbs into Halogen headlights there is always going to be a compromise, Halogen lamps are near enough a point source and the reflector is designed with that in mind, LED doesn't have the power in a single chip so needs many so the source is spread out.

Works fine for normal lamps where you're trying to light an area, usually doesn't work great for any lamp that needs to form a beam.

Some LED lamps you can rotate the LED array in relation to the mount to try and find the best compromise, but that's down to the LED lamp as Halogens should be rigidly fixed in place so the filament is at the focus of the reflector.

Only way to get a good pattern with LED is to use lights designed for them where the reflector is designed around each LED emitter.

Thanks.
It’s THQ V3’s I have and bought them with the LED bulbs

As you have THQ lights check out their video on how to setup the bulbs.
Maybe it’s the video you are referring to that I seen the rotating the bulb thing. Thought I’d read it on here.
Probably why I couldn’t find the post :slow rofl:
Will check it out thanks

you need to rotate the LED bulb 90 degrees,

i had the same on mine, was a PITA to do after id refitted the headlights and front bumper.

"rear lamp cover off, the rotate that back of the LED lamp, you dont need to release the spring clip as the lamp rotates in its casing."
