Blind spot monitoring system included in the Standard Configuration T6.1 or not?

Hi all,
On the VW Transporter T6.1 Configuration page says that "Blindspot monitering system (Side Assit) and Rear Traffic Alert" is not included in the Standard Equipment/ on all models including basic.

The dealer I spoke with "thinks" it is, looking to see what you guys know about it.

Cheers,
Lucian.

It's an option

That's what I thought also, but I cannot find something specific that says blind spot monitoring....only thing close to it that makes sense is this one:

"Park Assist with Sensor-based Side Protection, includes front and rear park distance control"

Side protection is blind spot i believe. Did bother with it. Got it on my car, pain beeping all the time

it's beeping in traffic or during parking? I would of thought that as a blind spot monitor it's only visual, and maybe beeps if you put the indicator ON when you wanna change lanes and there's a car in the blind spot, and even that sound would be possible to turn off from the options, that's what I would of thought, but don't know :) how does it work ?

Ok, so I got hold of the document attached from a Dealer.
Looks like Blind Spot Monitoring it is included for a Standard VAN Version, as long as the Van is not ordered with optional rear wing doors or High roof.

" Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Traffic Alert1
1. Not available with optional rear wing doors or High roof. "

I've ordered a t6.1 sportline and it's not on that as standard and it also isn't an option.
Would of had it added if it was..
I think its been dropped as it probably requires a lot of modules all needing micro chips
☹️.

Barn doors or tailgate?

It's not been an option on barn doors forever. (No space for sensor due to door hinge)

.

I could be wrong on this.
Has anyone got a sportline yet? Not black edition just standard 6.1 sportline. Does it have blind spot monitoring and side assist??

My Mar 21 Highline PV with tailgate doesn’t have it…was an optional extra when I ordered.

its not listed as an option in the brochure.?

.....

But Side protection is listed in the standard brochure . .

1 Optional at extra cost. 2 Within the system’s thresholds. 3 Only in combination with a tailgate. 4 No direct detection of lateral obstacles by sensors. Obstacles are ‘estimated’ by the system when they are detected by the front/rear sensors as the vehicle passes.

..

cant see rear blind spot mentioned?

Been though all of this myself when ordering.
Just thought .aye it wasn't listed but as a Brucie bonus some one had a sportline turn up with ot on
Oh well isn't a deal breaker for me would of been nice to have but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
I've had 3 transit custom sports in a row now and the one I have now has the lot on but really need a change.
Drove a sportline and loved it..

I didn't order the rear wing doors but they gave it to me anyway.

Their excuse was they upgraded my van to barn doors because they didn't have the micro chip for the blind spot sensor. And I'd have to wait longer to get my vehicle.

I've already waited a year so I just accepted it.

It is a shame though the blind spot monitoring would have been useful.
