Bluetooth activation on 2018, original stereo - help for newbie please!

I'm assuming my van has bluetooth and it has been disabled by a software update. Is there a way to restore it on the 1K8035150L head unit?

I have been into the maintenance mode by pressing settings for 5 seconds, and the only options I seem to have are to update via USB or SD, but is there somewhere I can get an update from to do it? Will this provide a remedy? Thanks for looking.

Why do you say it has been disabled?

Can you see 'VW' on your phone's Bluetooth list when the ignition is on (might only be when the engine is running, I forget).

Because I think the unit has bluetooth, it's just not working. The van used to be owned by Eon who may have disabled it?
