Boost Pressure Diagnosis

Hi all,

Recently had some trouble with my van. EML started flashing and it seemed as though power was restricted.

Turned off and started up again, all fine for 30 seconds and then same again.

Had it diagnosed and this is the fault description:

'DPF clamp and gasket (the one to the turbo) is leaking. Requires replacement.'

Can anyone shed some light on what the part would be? I've done a quick Google but I'm no expert when it comes to engines - is this what I need to replace?: Elring OE Turbo to DPF Connector Clamp & Gasket - Audi VW

Thanks in advance.

Hi.
How was this diagnosed?
Was the DPF light also illuminated?
I'm sure that a few more people will chime in this evening but I'm struggling to see why an air leak on the upstream side of the DPF would be an issue other than fumes.
The pressure differential across the DPF is monitored check for build up of soot but a leak would surely just look like a less restricted flow?

So when the problem happened, just the EML was flashing and noticeable power loss over 2000 revs, especially in higher gears, accompanied by louder whooshing sounds.

I took it to a VW specialist local to me, paid for a diagnosis and they found a few fault codes but said they could all possibly be remedied with this fix - if not then a further diagnosis to see if anything else is going on.

That problem was the only thing on the diagnosis.

So looking around again and I keep coming up with this part:

However, it states T5 in the description and doesn’t list my engine code which is CXHA - can anyone help me locate the correct part?

A leak on the outlet of the exhaust turbine won’t affect the boost pressure.

So I've had another garage look at it.

Now I'm being told that the DPF is completely blocked. Nothing is coming out the exhaust as it is being forced back towards the engine and this is where the whooshing sound is coming from?

What do you guys think?

Put your hand over the exhaust and check
