@True Romance I can recommend Yamp Camp Ditchling (if its currently open?). The owners can be a little grumpy but its a lovely site simple site, lovely views but pretty basic. If thats your bag then its brilliant for a few nights. Try the Bull in Ditchling to for a decent meal.
Not far from Brighton about 20 mins - half hour but is on the sea front Seaford Buckle camp site tucked behind the sea wall old but fit for purpose - but hot showers was there last week i go there a lot for the fishing. has a regular coastal train line straight into Brighton the site is close to station .just accross the road
the other side of Eastbourne again Brighton 35 - 40 mins not far is Pevensey Normans Bay camp site C&CC right on the front im there next week end just to have a look not been there in years
There is a Caravan and Motorhome Club site just on the east side of Brighton. We have used it several times and find it very good. Frequent bus service to and from the town centre (not right outside the site though) which runs well after midnight too. It’s also a walkable distance.
Second @Martinf, from memory it's about a 1/4 mile from the sea front at the Marina end but within walking (a good mile) distance of the North Lanes and all that good stuff.
