Hi all what's the right bulb for the small light under the main set of lights? Next to the indicator. And Is there an led upgrade to modernize the look?

They are a bit of a faff with the headlights in place, but not as extreme as this sounds, far easier to take the bumper off and remove the headlights.

this will give you an idea of what's involved.

If you are sticking to Halogen, and still want the bright white look, then Maruta are the best I have found:

MARUTA® 582 (W21W) 12V (Natural Glass) Xenon Gas Filled Bulbs with Advanced Technology
e.g. from here:

Better than the Lumro which I found kept failing.

Might get local mechanic to tackle in that case next time it's in!
The LEDs are very tricky to fit as they are just a bit too long; I put mine in when I was swapping the lights.

The normal bulbs are easy:
  • 30 seconds to remove;
  • 30 minutes to refit (each!!)
Sometimes they go in straight away, other times it has been a good 45 minutes before I have got the angle just right.

I stayed with halogens in mine cos I didn’t like how hot the resister units ran when I put some leds in and it threw the bulb warning light. Mine are the lumro ones, they’re ok not amazing so will be replacing them in time with what @CAB has recommended. You can do them ok in situ if you got patience :) but I’ve got to be a dab hand at removing the bumper now;)

Second vote for the Twenty20 582 linked by Dubber above. I’ve had mine in a couple of years now and they have been faultless. I put mine in while swapping to H7 headlights. If I was to change the bulbs in the future I’d just pop one side of the bumper at once rather than remove the whole thing and ease the light forward.
