Hi
I am new to this site so apologies if this is posted in the wrong section etc.
I have recently purchased a 2018 T32, 150bhp.
The wheel fitted are Calibre CC-U 20"
I am concerned that these are not correctly load rated for the vehicle.
All sites I have checked are saying these are 815kg rated and not 860kg as required by the rear axle weight.
I have contacted the vehicle supplier but no response as yet.
Can anyone confirm if these are available 860kg or above.
First of all, welcome to the forum, and i'm sure this will get moved into the correct section at some point, so don't worry.
Wheel ratings is one of the most debated subjects on here, and the 'Search' box will answer any ratings questions posed.
As for your Calibre wheels, no they aren't rated high enough for a T32, and this is an issue that's been seen dozens of times with new vehicle purchases.
I'm not sure if this was a main dealer purchase, but bare in mind that with a short battle and the correct wording, the dealer will almost always rectify the situation, but also bare in mind that the rectification might well be them changing your 20's for a set of standard 17" factory fit wheels. In other words, if you purchased your T6 because it looked amazing on 20" wheels, this might soon be changed, depending on the outcome.
Now, the controversial part of this hot debate. It's your vehicle and you are aware the wheels are not rated high enough. This could have an effect on any future insurance claim, MOT failure, warranty issue etc etc. (although i'm yet to read of any real examples)
However, many people make the choice to ignore these facts and still run under-rated wheels and tyres at their own risk. Take my T6 for example: I run the correct rated tyres, but they are fitted to a set of Banded steel wheels. These wheels have their own risks, but i'm aware of this and I choose to run these wheels anyway.
I obviously don't in any way condone the use of anything incorrect, but many people run commercials with this exact conundrum.
Lastly, should you go down the option of changing these wheels for a the correctly rated set, you will quickly find it's not an easy task, but there are some nice wheels in 20" around.
Good luck.
