Camp Sites: do Rail Sails count as an Awning?

I can’t find the answer. Sites that charge extra for awnings, do they count rail sails as an awning?

Having to pay for a site in advance and can’t decide, if need to select the awning option for an extra £7 per night.

Say nothing and play innocent if questioned. Worse case you will have to pay or take it down. For me that is a canopy not an awning.

Caravan & Motorhome Club:
A roll-out canopy is not an awning.

Caravan & Camping Club:
It might be, it might not be!

Never declare my canopy. It’s not an awning. Never been challenged.

No its a canopy not an awning .
If you then add a privacy room then its chargeable.

Thanks all, very useful to know what others do. Was working it in my head that you are taking up similar amount of ground space, but guess setting chairs table extra out also takes up that space.


But agree if challenged will happily pay the extra.
