Can I put LED bulbs in my reversing light without bulb out error- best black smoked LED rears (with Pics please)

Hi all.

Thinking of upgrading my rear halogen lights to LED's but only worried about the reversing light. Can I just swap over the bulb to LED- sounds too simple!

If not, will upgrade but would like some black smoked (already have red smoked so fancy a change). I know the THQ smoked work well but not too keen on the look- doesn't look as 'smokey' as some I have seen.

Can anyone recommend any other black smoked rears (that don't throw up bulb error)...pics would be good as well

Thanks for the swift response- I've got standard lights at the moment so not sure if this or any LED reversing bulb will work with bulb error

Hi @Mr Hero you can switch the halogen reverse light bulb to LED without error codes appearing. If you mean to upgrade to full LED rear lights this is also easy enough. You will need to replace the connectors as the LED's are different, if you need a link to the correct plug let me know or search the forum as the info is on here. They will work as yours do now however if you run 2 new wires and connect accordingly you will have full use of reverse and rear fogs on both sides without any errors. Again, all the wiring instructions can be found on the forum. As for after market lights, I imagine they will be plug and play and good for use with LED bulbs but can't confirm as never dealt with any.

Hi @Gazbadge thanks for this. I don't hate the look of my lights...wish I could see something when I reverse.

I have seen a couple of threads on suitable bulbs- will just check tomorrow- hopefully save me about £250!

My twenty20 bulbs have arrived but I'm not sure they look like they will fit...I have original halogen rear lights not LED.

Will have another look but appreciate if someone could just confirm that this bulb goes in without nay adaptors etc.

I needed the 382 fitment for this bulb so have ordered this- I'm glad that I wasn't so useless that I couldn't even change a bulb!
