Can you fit a manual tailgate handle to a T6?

A question. Regardless of why, can anyone please tell me if a ‘manual’ tailgate handle and mech can be fitted to a 67 plate T6 in place of the one that comes as standard?

Eg this Van Parts Direct VW Transporter 2003-2015 Exterior Tailgate Handle 2K0827561A3FZ- Genuine VW Commercial Parts

I doubt it. The tailgate lock mechanism is electronic and locked/unlocked by the van BCM using the switch in the tailgate handle. I suppose you could swap the lock mechanism for a manual one but it might not lock from the central locking

I’m not bothered about the central locking. I just want a manual latch and key. I want to know if the manual units will fit and whether it’s actually possible.

Anything is possible, it would require a lot of customisation and welding. You may be better off swapping to a t5 tailgate, bolt on bolt off, a little wiring manipulation and bobs your uncle.
