Carbon clean service with Hydrogen

I had a card shoved through the door last week advertising a "Carbon Clean Service" from £60 including a free engine diagnostic check. the front goes into detail about the advantages of cleaning the engine and the power improvements and the back side goes on about the Hydrogen they will run through the EGR and DPF systems. HAs anyone else had something like this or had this done?
Lets not go into the fact that Hydrogen is a areenhouse gas and not generally good for the atmosphere. ,but im curious as to whether this is relevant or if there are better options, other than a spanner and a brush.

Not sure about the service but there is no Hydrogen in the atmosphere, it just escapes into space, so no contribution to greenhouse.

Thanks @Jon, agreed, but there is a school of thought that involves it's affect on methane and ozone but let's not go there, the arguments are many.

So aswell as using a rare gas to possibly power cars, is it any good as a cleaning agent?

Hydrogen would be a great fuel for cars etc. if we could develop the technology. Only thing coming out of the exhaust pipe would be water!
I dont get where you get the arguments from? I never mentioned methane, but as you did I agree, it is a bigger greenhouse gas than CO2. In fact there are arguments it would be better for global warming if everybody became vegetarians than getting rid of all internal combustion engines due to the amount of methane produced by our food.

Hydrogen ?!?!? Boom!!

That's nuts. o_O o_O o_O

This new invention will revolutionise hydrogen vehicles by all accounts.
As for methane, well scientists have said for years that severely reducing meat production is key to reducing methane emissions, but now Siberia is on fire and the permafrost is releasing methane. Luckily we have some profoundly intelligent world leaders who are sorting it out:rolleyes:

We're supposed to eat all the cows cos they keep farting which causes all the methane!
So I presume no-one has done a carbon clean on any of their cars then... Mmmm. As @DXX says, explosive!

The stores of methane in the permafrost that are now defrosting are huge and much greater than any other factor in global warming. So now that they are on fire we might as well enjoy the time we have left driving somewhere nice in our Carboniferous campers and light a big coal fired bbq and have a nice big steak! Enjoy it while it lasts

So now we have modern synthetic oils and better fuel containing additives our engines still suffer with carbon build up to the extent that they need this service?
If your van is running fine why would you bother?
I've previously driven cars with over 200K on the clock that never missed a beat, never suffered with poor performance or failed an MOT on emissions, these cars never needed a "carbon clean service" so I'm struggling to see why it is money well spent.
Spend the money on frequent servicing using quality oil instead. Just my opinion!

Let’s not demonise farting, it’s belching methane that’s the issue. Eat less beef and cows milk and we only have the long list of other things to worry about.
