Carbon monoxide alarm

Can anyone advise on the best place to fix a carbon monoxide alarm. I was thinking of just above where the kettle is on the pic.

I can’t imagine it’s too critical as long as it’s not jammed in a corner or too near any door/window or other source of ventilation.
 
Thanks t0mb0. Makes sense. I also heard it should be close to the bed, but I guess when the beds out that just about means anywhere!
 
Mine has been fitted (by the converters) on the vertical end of the units behind the drivers seat, so relatively close to the diesel heater which is fitted under the drivers seat.
 
Thanks Nige_g. There's lots of different layoutsOn my conversion the heater is under the rear seat - you can just see the blower vent in the pic. I'm thinking by the kettle is the sensibleoption for me.#

In ours, the [poorly drawn] arrow marks the spot in this picture - you can just make out the two fixing screws next to the heater controller but it only goes up when we are using the van
