Carpet Over Ply Or Attach Ply With Hidden Fixings

I’m going to be carpeting this weekend.
I’m trying to understand the downsides or screwing in 5mm ply to the off-side rear panel and carpeting over vs carpeting and then carpeting the ply to add afterwards.
The wardrobe and kitchen fittings will cover this section regardless of which way I decide to go.
Any additional electrics I might need can be hidden behind the units?

Just depends if you think you’re going to ever need to get behind the panelling at all at any point. Personally I carpet the panel separately just in case.
