I can make it fit.

But im wondering if it should...

Took the plunge, bought a board kit (i couldnt be arsed to make it all...), but, its all a bit tight with the the middle captiain chairs in. Are they meant face foward or rearwards with the board down? I personally think the middle captiains with the seat back upright as the three seat rear bench folds flat up over the base of the middle captiain chairs - but its all really tight and im just wondering if this is one of those (volkswagen making sure it only just fits' or Im just not doing somthing right i.e - are the front seats meant to go all the way forwards or what have you.

Am i hoping for something that isnt? or am i not being 'methodically german enough'? XD - like i said, i believe and feel it should fit

I have also been told it should...

oh, and i have trawled the internet and here for a straight answer. im not getting one. fun times.

Cheers

usually have singles forward facing more leg room had 5 adults in no complaints about room swb rails if going away/camping often leave singles at home more room less weight

I was more referring to when it is in bed mode - what's the correct arrangement for the seats so the multflexboard and rear seats can unfold properly. As I'm not sure I'm doing it right..
I agree though that removing the middle seats may be a more intuitive thought if using the van as a pure camper for a period.

Thanks for you reply and suggestion - it has helped in making my question simpler and more defined :)

I use rear 3 seat facing forward board btwn tailgaite and rear of seat when seat flat makes bed usually leave like that ready to sleep on- put board in boot then slide seat forward upright then lower/flatten to meet board -put a mark/sticker at front end when seat in upright position when happy it meets board set up saves guessing position in future
