Carrying two gas bottles

Hi all,

Getting ready for a week away. Just checking the gas bottle and it looks like there is a bout 1/5 of it left, which will probably be enough for the week.

Just wondering if any of you carry two bottles, we're only going to Isle, though there isn't a Go outdoors there, so not sure how easy the campingaz 907's to get hold of.

I have space for another bottle, though always looking to save on it where possible, is there a safety issue with carrying two bottles?

Buy a rechargeable bottle , much better then wherever you go Europe or here gas refilling will be much cheaper

@Lee the Camping Gaz 907 is freely available especially in France where you can exchange bottles in many supermarkets as long as you have a handle (if necessary swap the handle off the full to the empty when you make the exchange).

With you having a 907 I'm guessing that you have the small gas locker typically fitted in conversions, in which case, unless you are able to undersling it (depends on location of water tanks, etc.), you will also be limited by which refillable bottle you can get in - the only one I am aware of is the Gaslow 2.7kg bottle.

If you already have or are thinking of getting a second 907 bottle why not swap it out now ready for your week away and then put the nearly empty one back on for your next shorter break and/or run it out at home. Nothing worse than running out of gas half way through cooking your dinner when the shops are closed!!

Or have a tank fitted underneath , but not possible if your VW is a 4Motion as they don't fit because of the dif
