Changing stock Claytons

Morning all,

New T6.1 T28 due in later this month and looking to change the stock wheels. Want to go matt black rather than the silver Claytons that are going to be on it (will be for sale if anyone is interested).

I do not pretend to understand all the options, all I know is that I want to change the colour and probably increase size a little. It seems that it would be a good opportunity to go up in size a little bit, so thinking of 18".

These look good to me: 18" SuperMetal Bolt Matt Black Alloy wheels | Van Wheels but would appreciate any advice.

Dont want to change suspension/lower etc, just want to buy a set of wheels that can be put straight on.

What size tyres would suit something like these to maintain the same height? I am not interested in speeding round corners at 100mph, just want a good all-round experience.

Thanks in advance
BigDean.

Hi, I did something similar. 16s to 17s to 20s. My first port of call was to the vw accessory brochure. There you will find wheel and tyre sizes that they recommended for keeping the speedo and vehicle speed close, and won’t have rubbing issues. The 18s they have, recommended a different tyre size to the ‘sportline’.

They say 235/50 for 18x8s or 255/45 was the original sportline size. I have a T28, and have 102 load rate tyres
