Changing van camper build

Anyone else here done their own conversion then realised it no longer suits their needs, reconfigure to suit?

I have 2+1 front seats, we are family of three and have a big space in the back with sliding bench, loads of storage and space for a motocross bike.

Motocross bike gone now, the front bench double is most uncomfortable seat ever so looking to reconfigure...

I guess the ts one of those things, the more specific to your needs the setup is, the more likely you are to outgrow it.

Getting a captains seat for the passenger is a relatively easy change but expensive as they are in demand but should give a much more comfortable travelling seat for the wife and (biggest bonus in my book) it allows easy access through to the rear, not sure how we’d live without that.

Front seats sorted I think, will sell my drivers captain and go with a pair of Audi seats, bit stuck with the rear. No use for a full kitchen.. a 3/4 rock and roll bed will be fine for size and positioning as I want it as far back as possible to keep a larger open space in centre of the van.

Minefield of MOT compliant/M1 tested/non-tested.. might only be used a handful of times a year but its my son sitting there.

If I make these changes right, I can remove the van from sale and keep as our family car.. at the moment its more just my personal toy since no one wants to sit on the bench seat!

If you already have a sliding seat in the back I would stick to that - the flexibility for how you do the storage is really useful. We used to have a fixed R&R bed on our old van, and much prefer the slider in our new one.

Just need a legal belted seat in the rear for my son now I have 1+1 planned for the front. I do like the sliding bench on the side.

Ah I got the wrong end of the stick there! I’m thinking slide front to back, you have slide side to side.
