I've finally got round to cleaning up my rear end. It's gone from this.......

To this........

Spoiler delete, wiper delete, and a change of badge. I think the badge and backing, inspired by @cgtmiles, make a huge difference. I even had some help with this group of mods, the kids must've been really bored!!!

Looks nice and clean!

Difficult things spoilers on the vans, some days I like them and some days I don't, yours definitely suits it off though!

Completely agree about spoilers. It’s taken me 6 months to finally decide to remove it!

Best thing I ever did, removing my rear spoiler. They have there place, but not for me personally, and judging by how much better yours looks without one Chris, I suspect you won't put one on again. The T6 just seems to look great minimalistic.

Dont you find the wiper useful? My barn door windows get covered in traffic film when its raining, so the twin wipers are useful!

Or do you rainex the window?

Agreed, I have looked at many others without spoilers and preferred the look, although it took me ages to finally convince myself to remove it, but I’m so glad I did. It isn’t without fault though, I was lucky it wasn’t bolted, but it was hiding a few things. The tailgate will eventually need respraying. Oh and yes, it will stay spoiler free, as will any future T vans I may own.

To be honest I do find it useful, but I can live without it. I do lots of motorway miles and like you the screen gets covered in filth, but if it was a panel van I wouldn’t have a screen at all, so that’s my justification. Plus, as sad as it may sound, I’ve never been one to let practicality get the better of aesthetics!

Looking good Chris, less is definitely more.
I really like the wiper delete, not sure if I can bring myself to do it even though? I wouldn’t miss the practicality since my window is heavily tinted and can only be seen through on the brightest of days. Is the mod easily reversible?...

Yes Paul, it is easily reversible. I removed the wiper arm, then there are 3 nuts under the cover inside to remove the motor. I’ve wrapped the wires, connector and washer fluid hose in foam and cable tied them to stop any rattles. Most important thing is to remember not to push the wiper stalk for a rear spray! It’s just a 25mm blanking bung to fill the hole in the window.

could you get a plastic number plate bolt in the end of the washer tube or a stainless bolt?

Big step removing the wiper. I never even thought of that! I did actually like the fact that it has a wiper but is does look good. Something else to consider now, cheers!

Not sure I would trust my kids with a scraper or heat gun full stop and definitely not anywhere near the van! It is great that you managed to get them involved though. I have been trying to do the same but only really achieved it when my daughter helped spray the badge. My son said he would help fit the splitter but after waiting most of the day I ended up using clamps!

I’m cannot decide weather to remove my rear spoiler . I stuck it on myself with Stixall and I know it’s stuck like S#it to a blanket .
Main reason is to get a bike rack on there without having to get a tow bar fitted aswell . But I love the look of yours @ChrisR .
Did the hair drier help ? And how did you remove the left over adhesive?

thanks

The hair dryer helped a little, but not a great deal. I think it had been stuck on with Sikaflex and it was seriously stuck. I had hoped to get the spoiler off in one piece and sell it, but it split when I was about half way across because I was having to lift it with so much force! As for getting the leftover adhesive off, I used a trim tool to scrape it away. I tried soaking the adhesive with silicone remover in the hope it would break it down a bit, but I don't think it really helped. It took a couple of hours of careful scraping. I polished the paintwork up to look as good as possible afterwards, but to be honest, it's going to need a respray. The spoiler itself was covering up some damage and the adhesive appears to have etched itself into the lacquer. The scraping to remove adhesive cause a few little marks, but I managed to polish the majority of it out.

Thanks for the reply @ChrisR . I will have a think about mine before I go for it . Once You commit to removing that’s it . I was hoping to be able to sell mine if I can get it off . Might have to think again

A couple more little changes to my rear end:

Changed the tow bar with less now on show below the bumper.

Removed the spare wheel and carrier.

I might remove the rear towing eye too, but not sure yet.
