Clunky gear change on manual box

Morning - just wondering if anyone can give me some advice. The gear lever movement when I change gear (2015 T6 140 6 speed manual) is not smooth, but clunky. It changes gear OK and it's not the grinding of cogs that might indicate a clutch issue. It feels like there is something wrong with the gear lever mechanism (just a feeling, not based on anything tangible). Anyone experienced this before or got any ideas of what it could be? thanks.

I've got a 2016 T6 140 6 speed manual and the gearchange is among the best of any vehicle I've ever driven, so something's probably not right with yours.
I see from your other posts that you purchased yours a few months ago.
Has it changed during that time or is this an issue that it had when you got the van?

Not that this helps, but I have the same symptoms. (2016 T6 140 6 speed manual).
I changed the gearbox oil and it made no difference. Mine is a high mileage van at 179k though.

Me too. I changed gearbox oil (2016 140 6 speed) at around 100k as the shift could be a bit clunky but it made no difference. I'm on 155k now and I don't think it's any worse.
In my case @JDT1 I can shift like butter if the revs are matched so I'm convinced it's more to do with the box and/or the synchros than the linkage.

Thanks for the response Dave - I think it was like that from the start - I've been focused on a harsh suspension issue - found out front spring was broken - I've reverted to OEM springs and ride is much better - but now the focus is the clunky gear charge.

OK thanks Robbo - mine is at 126k

Thanks The Bear 78 - that rings a bell - I think I see that too - so that sounds like the only real solution is something in the guts of the gearbox :(

Potentially, but when I looked into my "issue" there were a few reports about clunky changes. I don't recall any of them being a sign of impending doom and, as I said, I've done at least 50k since then without any drama. I'm on the original clutch and flywheel too so I'm fairly confident that neither of those were the problem.
You've probably just got one of the clunky ones!!

Matches it's owner then :)

I’ve got a 2016 T6 140 6 speed with 170k on the clock. Original clutch and DMF. The gear change when warmed up is silky. It’s the cold start where it’s a smidge off perfect but still very good really.

Getting the clutch and DMF done as a precaution end of the week as I think I can detect the clutch starting to go. If it changes the behaviour, I’ll let you know. I’m not expecting it to.

Thanks CJW - that will be interesting
