Convert the T6.1 Van-X magnetic glove box lid to hinged?

Has anyone attempted to convert the T6.1 Van-X magnetic glove box lid to hinged?

It isnt very big inside when the lid is on and when you get used to it you can remove it and replace it one handed quite easy. Obvious that doesnt always go for passengers.....
