Just wondering if many of you have downloaded the Covid 19 Symtom Tracker?

Its really easy to complete once a day and they need more people to contribute

The app can do individuals or you can add other people from your house hold - I do mine and the kids, the misses does her own.

Heres a link :

COVID Symptom Tracker - Help slow the spread of COVID-19 - https://covid.joinzoe.com/

And heres another link with some more information:

It’s just been reported on the Coronavirus evening television report that the official tracking app will not be available until the middle of May so what this is I really don’t know.

Did you read what’s on the link to the press release?

Hi, yes I read the link and went on to google as I have never heard of Zoe Global who have made the app, I was a little disturbed to find the statement below in the small print, I think I will await the ‘official’ app. This app is probably perfectly ok and I might be paranoid.

When we share data with researchers at partner institutions, such as Harvard University and Stanford University, it will be anonymized but as the USA has different rules on data protection they may not protect your data in the same way as, or as well as, under GDPR. We are permitted to do this, because you consent to our doing it.

If someone in the US wants to look at a spreadsheet of dates which shows that I’ve ticked “No I haven’t had a Covid-19 test” and “I feel fine” in the Covid app then they can fill their boots. I don’t think my data has been infringed. If it helps, brilliant.

The thing with an unofficial app is the fact its data mining your phone and gps data and everything else for that matter you allowed when you downloaded it.
I'm happy to participate in a government sourced app, but ill have a bloody good read of the small print and see what else they will use the info for.

I hear what you are saying. The app doesn’t have access to location data or anything like that. The only location data I have shared is my postcode.

If anyone is unsure, I can post their privacy policy on here.

I’ve been on it for about 6 weeks. It’s run by a medic who’s regularly on TV. If it helps the science and maybe saves a few lives, I’m in. It does a different thing to the govt version.

Just watched the daily covid presser. They say the official app is out in 3 weeks along with the test/trace kits.
Needs Bluetooth permanently on to trace and inform if you may have been infected.
