crafty speed camera placement.

I passed a good one the other day. It was on a very busy urban main road, hardly chance to go over 30mph, but sometimes possible if there was a short lull in traffic flow and someone trying to get through traffic lights before they changed. The camera was on this area. The crafty thing was that it was placed in amongst 'road clutter' (many signs and street furniture, and parked cars vans waggons all at various parked angles), and so the effect was to be camourflaged. Very crafty as the speed camera van with its bright chevron pattern signage was in amongst similar vehicles with such signage as it was outside a large vehicle recovery business/yard. I couldn't spot it at all until I was on top of it. I wasn't speeding.

But i would also like to say that I have been driving for decades and seen the changes. The speed camera situation has changed from what it was only a couple of years ago. They are mobile and they have honed their craft. It is more 'lethal' than ever before. We have to adapt, too, so now even be more careful not to ever speed, or it will only be a matter of time, and I reckon that all-in-all 3 points will add up to a grand, with the insurance premiums year after year.

Anyone else seen any good ones?

My only points (now gone) were from a very well hidden traffic light camera in Glasgow.
Four lane arterial road with a tiny residential road to the left and traffic lights I only spotted as they went amber then red; I could have stopped but it would have been very severe for the kids so rolled through and got flashed.
No traffic anywhere.
I was rather annoyed...

I have been caught twice with in 3 months off each other so 6 points.

I wasnt speeding. Well I was obviously... however they were placed right where the speed limit changed from 50 to 30 and vise versa.
I was caught in that zone of accelerating or decelerating. Very crafty and not clearly seen.

I wasn't even aware until I got a letter.

The day will come when it's all automated, you will drive past a camera it will log your reg and send you a text that your account will be debited.
