Cupboard shelving

Hi all,
Has anyone put shelving in there kitchen module? I have three cupboards next to my fridge. First one has the gas bottle cabinet. The other two are general storage. It seems a waste of space without a middle shelf as its not practical to store items on top of each other.
Any ideas or what have been done to improve storage

I added an intermediate shelf in what some call the ‘wardrobe’ but we use as a ‘larder’. The shelf is cut from an Ikea door. The grey finish is a good match for our trim and there is a slight lip on the front, embedded in the original door profile, which stops things sliding off.
The downside is that it is only mdf so not as strong as a laminated material. Fixing is by screwing through the walls. Originally I was after a piece material to match the main panelling but could only obtain a large sheet at great expense. I did then obtain a small piece from our converter but the current Ikea door is holding up well.
