Dealer Servicing - Manchester or Sheffield VW van centres?

Hi

We need to get the first service booked for our 6.1 and I’d be grateful if folk can give recent feedback on their experience with the VW Van Centers in Manchester or Sheffield? We’re mid-way between them and so they’re both equally easy/difficult to reach.

FWIW my past experience of dealerships (Land Rover) has been *very* poor and so it’s with many reservations that I’m considering using VW over a local garage. We plan to keep the van for the long-term and so having a dealer service record isn’t so important.

Cleckheaton have always been pretty good for me. Might be nearer as well.

Not had my van in at a van centre yet, but from what I've read on here, people often avoid Manchester in preference to Liverpool or, as @Skyliner33 suggests, Cleckheaton.

Thanks @Bav and @Skyliner33. I’ve done a forum search and seen mixed reviews for both Manchester and Sheffield.

I’m in the Peak District and so Manchester or Sheffield would be closest and I was hoping to avoid an even longer trip.

Might have to consider a local independent…

Personally never had a problem with Manchester. At the last service they did a software update which caused an EGR fault to keep coming on. (2016 T6 around 70k miles) They took the van back and replaced all the parts under warranty with no argument. They said it would take a while for parts etc but when I told them we were going away the following weekend they managed to get it all sorted in time.
