Disconnected the leisure battery - now lots of fault codes

Hi Guys,

I have a VW T6.1 Transporter with a factory leisure battery. I was working on my van earlier today and had the passenger seat out to lay a cable to my starter battery (not connected). When I put everything back together, seatback in and connected up the leisure battery, I'm getting a heap of errors when I start the van in the floowing order:
Airbag, Lane Assist , Rear traffic Alert, Oil Sensor.

I've read that a battery reset might be needed ( do I need to disconnect both the starter battery and the leisure battery and wait for 15 mins ) or is there something more sinister wrong here? Anything else I can check?

Any ideas would be appreciated as I'm meant to be taking my son away at the weekend.

Did you switch the ignition on whilst you had the seat electrics (airbag/heater/seat belt sensor) disconnected?

Turning the ignition on with the seat out will cause a fault. It’ll need resetting with an appropriate tool, e.g VCDS. I don’t know if the likes of OBD11 or Carista can reset it.
Ok thanks - I thought I'd just get an error on those 3 components, not the lane assist, Rear traffic alert, oil sensor, stop start, parking sensors as well. I'll see if I can get it reset with an VCDS tool tomorrow.

I'm not saying they are all connected, but strange stuff happens when you get a random fault. Just as an example, I had a fault with my ACC, kept getting a "ACC unavailable " message. But only when I was towing. It turned out to be a faulty light bulb on the trailer. The other thing to consider, have you dislodged any wiring under the passenger seat during your mods? What was the reason for removing the seat, what work were you doing?

Ok. I’ll have a look tomorrow. I was feeding a cable up to the engine compartment for a split relay on my house battery. (Not connected yet). So that’s why I had the seat up. I’ll check the wires and fuses tomorrow.
