So my DMX8021DABS is all installed and working well all supplied by @Absolut5. It has an interface to the reversing cameras which brings up a car display overlaid on the reversing camera and this shows nearby objects around the van picked up by the ultrasonic sensors. It seems a bit more sensitive than the VW original as it picks up the smallest bit of grass when reversing. It seems the original sounds made by the reversing sensors is still there - a lowish tone apparently eminating from the direction of the detected object. So far so good.
But the Kenwood also make a tone when it senses an object. This is a higher (almost shrill) tone but without an apparent direction. And the trouble is that this is on top of the original tone and is out of phase with the orignal tone. So you get a more than annoying confusion of the two sounds. There does not seem to be a way of turning either tone off (or down).
Anyone found a way around this?
OK it's minor and it certainly alerts you to a nearby object but I would quite like to be able to adjust this.
