Does anybody carry a spare wheel inside the van?

If so any idea on how to mount so it doesn’t move around? Will it fit between the two captains seats behind the drivers seat? Or alternatively behind the seat in the gap (which can be increased) as shown in the pic?

If not is it better to carry it in a Thule easybase? I have one but not sure how much a 20 inch alloy with a tyre on accurately weighs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ as have no way of weighing it

Good question a few reasons…

1) I have air ride
2) I have rear ABT twin exit exhaust
3) I have 20 inch alloys and want to go to France again which is a decent 8 hours of driving - I did it last time without issues but I’d rather not gamble a longer run without a spare

I occasionally carry a spare wheel on a towbar mounted BakRak. Only on the longer drives, for anything else there's Greenflag! I'm happy to take the weight of one of my spares tomorrow if you need it!

That would be great if you didn’t mind :)

I did see that towbar mounted option which I thought for the longer journeys might be a good shout unless it would sit secure on the easy base Thule carrier

It worked well on our 1500 mile trip to Skye and back, we would use it again on a European trip, very secure, easy to get in to the barn doors when lowered. I'll find my buried postal scales in the morning and throw an 8.5J 20" on them on a Velare VLR07.

You could look at the Thule rear door multi bicycle carrier or similar. Quite a few vehicles on here only use them with adaptions for carrying spare wheel and carrier box or military style fuel can. Some specialist outlets sell them for your particular vehicle and with all additional parts for wheel mounting and other accessories.

Take a peek at those too

I have air ride, 20's and went to France last year when i had a LV rear bumper with no issue. Curious why any of what you say would cause issues or do you not have spare underneath ?

As promised, just over 26kg on a 20" Velare VLR07, this is on a 10 rim, my 8.5 has the gubbins attached for the BakRak.
