Dometic Oven / grill corrosion

My dometic oven/ grill seems to be corroding fast, the hinge is really rusty and the heat shield is leaving loads of white power. Anyone had these issues? Is there a fix?

Dometic chrome and zinc plating is absolute crap. Sink hinges especially, on my second set at £80 a pop.
Avoid caustics, acids and obviously abrasives.
The parts cost a fortune, you are better off stripping it down and re-finishing it youself.
