Dometic Pw1000

Does anyone one here have a Dometic PW1000 wind-out awning installed AND do you use it with a drive away awning?

From what I can tell, the front trim has a “c” channel to attach one, but my concern is that the casing stands proud of the van thus allowing water to potentially flow between the two.

Any help and advise would be appreciated.

I have one of these and use it with a drive away - and your concern is well founded as I found out during first use on a rainy weekend. I used lengths of pipe lagging squashed into the channel as a cheap solution whilst I looked at a more permanent one. Not sure I ended up at the best or easiest solution, but I bought this: Fiamma Kit Rain Guard Van and then adapted (chopped it up to suit bracket locations etc) it to fit - it works well for me - but so did the pipe lagging!

Ahhhh, thought that would be the case. May rethink the wind-out, get a normal awning rail fitted and potentially go for one of these instead Debus VW T4 T5 T6 Sun Canopy Midnight Black
