Door seals - custom vs universal

Hi All

I have split door seals on both the driver and passenger side of my van. (In the opening on the van, not on the door itself)

I was wondering whether it's worth getting the custom shaped door seal replacements or what looks like a fairly universal fitting roll of door seal available on ebay.

Is there any real advantage to having the custom shaped door seals or will the universal stuff be absolutely fine?

I bought a full set of veedub transporter seals for my van and have no complaints.
If the OEM ones were of good quality I would not have had to replace them...

About to attempt this myself. How much of a faff is it? Am I going to end up removing the driver seat to get the B pillar trims off or can it be done by just easing things off at the edges?

Answered my own question.
loosen trims and remove handles / Sun glasses holder ease it over the edges. Took one hour total.
