Double Passenger Seat - replacing by single seat

I want to replace the front seat for passengers (double) by single ( in T6). I already have a chair, now I have to buy a base and swivel. What electric problems do I have to expect? And how to solve them? My old one have a seat heating only, while new has an airbag. The same applies to the driver's seat. I replace it with a full electrician chair.

Your electric cables will pass up through the central hole of the swivel. Without a fairly difficult wiring job I’d suggest leaving the airbag disconnected unless you really need it. I don’t believe the seat heating will throw up any errors if your not connected but at some stage gives you the option to add genuine vw heated pads.

@goreip - following - I'm going through the same thoughts on electrics as want to do the same.

Have you replaced like for like i.e. T6 for a T6 seat / T6.1 for a T6.1 seat?

I f you have, I generally understand all connectors should be the same - but people have had issues when replacing asay a T6.1 with a T6 seat as the cable conections are different.

Mines a basic spec so no heating or airbags...I just want to know if I can definietly make sure that the dash air bag will go off in case of an accident

Important question - if the seat does not feel the load ( due to unpluging) , is the front airbag working with the passanger?
