Double Seat parts - what are they?

Can anyone identify the two parts in the photo, they were rattling around in the base of our double seat and now it won't latch closed properly?

I assume they are the reason but I have no idea how they go back in....can anybody advise me please?

If you open the seat you will see a square opening near the front of the central metal bar, that is where the plastic part from the seat interfaces with the spring part to hold it closed

Im away from my van at the moment (wife is out in it) so if no one posts a picture for you anytime soon i will take a snap later when she gets back and show you

Heres a random internet pic showing the spring inside the hole in the metal brace, the plastic part will fit to underside of seat directly above it

The spring goes in the front-to-back central beam at the top of the seat.
The broken off bit has come from the front edge of the seat - it pushes into the spring.
