Driver and Passenger Doors showing as open on MFD.

Hi all,

Yesterday afternoon in a moment of wisdom I decided to spray wd40 (silicone) into the locks/latches on both my front doors. I then locked the van and went on my merry way with the rest of my day.

Fast forward to 5am this morning, I’m woken to the alarm of my van going off. Unable to lock it with the key fob I have gone out to investigate, where I now find that both driver and passenger doors will not register as closed, continuously showing as open on the MFD.

Clearly my moment of wisdom has caused this although I’m not sure as to why all of a sudden the van has unlocked itself this morning and set off the alarm? Is there a potential quick fix or have i likely caused myself a whole world of pain?

For anybody who ends up with similar issues… I spent yesterday spraying contact cleaner into the locks throughout the day and after a number of hours both doors began to work as normal. Thankfully no issues since.
