Driver seat removal to get to leisure battery

Hi All, Really New to T6 Campervans...1st one. Just got a second hand 2020 model T26 conversion. The leisure battery doesn't seam to be charging, so I wanted to take it out and check it. I watched a few youtube videos and it looked like to get the seat out it involved removing 4 bolts, and a electrical connector. However, in the video they seamed to tip the seat back to get it out? My issue is there is a unit/fridge right behind the drivers seat.

For those who know....should i be able to take the drivers seat out even with a unit/fridge behind?

Thanks in advance

I expect most tip it backwards to access the seat belt sensor plug and unplug it before taking out the seat. There's no real reason that it has to be taken off by tipping backwards, so if you can get it off after undoing the bolts you'll be fine. The fridge might restrict your access. You'll need a 13mm socket for the bolts/nuts.

Undo the 2 front 13mm nuts then pull the seat adjuster all the way forward and undo the 2 rear bolts. Then adjust the seat back so it is wound really far forwards or you won’t get the seat out of the door.
Now with your upper body in the driver footwell tip the seat back off the front studs and remove the clip that holds the wire to the seat rail, then undo the little plug by squeezing it where it plugs in.
Lift the seat out easily now.

When you unplug the airbag connector DO NOT turn the ignition on or you will get a fault light on your dash.
Only turn ignition on when the airbag plug is reconnected.

Absolutely… or if you just pump the height lever to max there should be enough room from the front without removing the seat, to test charge etc… other top tip (outside of air bag) (which happens a lot - especially with the passenger trim panels) is to make sure you don’t ‘slide’ the seat one loosened as this can cause the rails to run and set unevenly. Otherwise very very easy.

as above, you can take seat out the front drivers door. ( its HEAVY)

one tip - use a moving blanket or old jumper over the seat runners to stop the seat runners from scratching the plastic door card ( as i have done - twice now GRR)

seat folded forwards and pushed to the steering wheel side.

(though i have had the seat out about 50-100 times.)
