Dsg stuck in park.

I’ve just bought a T6, 2016, 7 speed Dsg. Went away on holiday and when I got home i started it up, which was a bit sluggish. I can not get the automatic gearbox to move out of park, it’s stuck solid. Battery is low but starts. Can anyone help?? Foot on brake and rear brake lights working.

Do you hear the “click” of the gear lever solenoid when you press the brake?
if so, it might be the weight of the vehicle against the gear.

if you don’t hear the solenoid you’ll need to investigate the power feed to it.

I will check if I can hear anything. Don’t think it’s the weight as it parked on the flat and I’ve tried rocking it back and forth. Thanks for your help

Just in case anyone else has this problem. My gearbox fault was caused by water getting into the electric compartment under the battery. The drain hole was blocked causing water to fill the box about 5 inches deep. This has been happening for a while causing the bottom 2 rows of the block connectors to corrode causing bad communication to the Dsg. Once I had snipped and rejoined the bad cables the gearbox was back up and running smoothly. The drain holes under the window were blocked causing water to fall round the battery rather than down the wings of the van. Cheap fix in the end but hard to find.
