Eberspacher or chinese night heater ?

Hi, new member, so hopefully ok with this 1st post.

I have Chinese Diesel heater unit fitted at present and have option to change it to Eberspacher D2. I noticed with the Eberspacher it draws 1 amp on idle mode !! - ie just the 801 Lcd controller active without the heater running.

This is massive = 24ah in 1 day for doing nothing- am i missing something here ?

The chinese unit only draws 0.1a while Lcd controller in sleep mode.

Any info/ advice welcommed.

Yea with clamp meter round the +ve wire ( jumper lead cables used from my van to test setup prior to installation) it was pulling 11.5 amp to start. then dropped down to about 3.5a, then after switching off the heat mode and waiting a few minutes for the fan to stop the draw was 1amp.
Nothing on the D2 chart showing standby current ?
Obviously a 12v setup with the VW T6.
I had a bench psu max output 10 amp, was tripping the safety over current on it when i tried it, so defo 10+ amps at start.
