ECU and DSG remap

Had my T6.1 150PS ECU and DSG remapped by @AutotechVagspecialist today. Fred is a fountain of knowledge and clearly enthusiastic about his trade. My van was a typical stock 150PS DSG and the gear shifting felt sluggish and flat. I wasn’t specifically looking for more power, as the 150PS seemed ok, but definitely wanted more torque. Well I got both and I am certainly impressed and pleased as she now pulls like a train and goes like a rocket! Power is now on tap as soon as you press the accelerator and the turbo remains providing boost throughout the rev range giving a constant pull.

Fred is also very knowledgable in other areas of tuning and I’m sure I’ll be back for that EGR delete.

If you’re near Weston-Super-Mare and need some tuning done - Fred is your man!

I guess that the 6.1 DSG does not have a sport position on the gear selector. Perhaps they tune the box to something like that? The engine tuning I guess has made the vehicle more immediate in behaver which is no bad thing. Not very keen on emission dodges. Not an expert but some on that here that are do not seam to give it the thumbs up either. I feel it is oversold but what do I know. Its the legality that bothers, no not a prude but some day the vehicle will be sold and unless it is reverted then some poor person perhaps with responsibilities will be left to pick up the pieces. Eventually government apathy will change towards action and some innocent may have to pay the costs ££££. Enjoy your improved truck. :)

EGR delete is reversible. I concur about not wanting to divert emissions but when the design is not fit-for-purpose and there are so many stories of EGRs causing issues to the engine, which can cost thousands in repair bills, it puts owners in a difficult position.

Not that difficult, get it deleted, who thought pumping all that soot back through the engine was a good idea.
