Thinking about forward planning a trip to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Doris....

Anyone got info or recommendations for campsites in or around Edinburgh or know of a friendly driveway with hookup?

I’m not a C&MC member but did stay here in Oct 2014.
Hook-up available. Medium sized site.
Location is a bus ride in to the city centre.

I think that would be a winner

From your part of the world you will probably pass Archerfield Walled Garden which is a cafe garden centre type place east of Edinburgh and it’s also a Britstop. We had a quiet night there and a lovely breakfast in the morning. Be good for one night on the way in or out

Yes. A few weeks ago. I live in Edinburgh and the site is just outside the city along the east coast. Chose this site as not far and one of our first outings in the van.

Nice clean site up a small road. Friendly folk (like most of us up here) and there is a little shop. They are a bit particular how you park your van - they like the vans to have the sliding doors not opposite the sliding door of another van so helping privacy.

Bus stop about 5 minutes down the road to get into the city.

My only very small gripe is that the site is on the landing flight path for the airport and so the planes going over may wake you up during the night.

Any other questions about Edinburgh, just ask.
