Engine Ecu from a dsg work in a manual

If it's exactly the same part number, including any letters at the end, it should work with just a recode.

Hello and thanks, been told by ecu specialist its not compatible ,software is diff, yet same parts number, alot of other people say just recode it.im a bit confused, can only find dsg one, mine is manual

If its the same part number it will physically be an identical item in every respect. It can't have the same P/N and yet be different.

Therefore, the only other variable is indeed the software, mas bluezie states. Despite what your ECU specialist says here's no parallel universe where the same part number (again, if they are the same) will end up with a different part being supplied.

Could it be that it’s the same part number for a replacement and you then code it accordingly but the original may be model specific. (I have this in white goods control modules so don’t know if it’s relavent)

If the softwares different you need to check if the correct flash file is even available

If two ECU's have different base software, they have to be a different part numbers.
When there are a pile of ECU's on the shelf with the same part number, how would the stock picker know which one is what if they had identical part numbers?
It's normal procedure to have ECU's that are capable of being recoded to work with all the other possible different ones on a vehicle, otherwise they would end up having to manufacture an infinite number of ECU's to cover all possibilities.

Sounds like you might need to double check if the ECU’s software can be flashed or recoded for your manual the same part number doesn’t always mean it’ll work without some tweaks.

Hello will a engine ecu from a dsg work in a 6 speed manual same parts numbers
The iron number is the same for DSG and manual box. It is only necessary to change the software. This can be done using ODIS. Also, do not forget that the control unit works in conjunction with IMMO.
