Hi peeps,my 2016 euro6 is coming up to its first service since I owned the van . I normally do this work myself I'm wondering what engine oil people recommend to prolong engine life.

I’m using millers trident c3 5W30 partly because of price and also available in 20L drums. Purchased from Opie Oils.

The most important is the spec, in VW's case either 505.01 or 507.00.
Then choose a grade to suit your use. In the case of the T6, this can range from 0W-30 to 5W-30 (cue opinions)
Shell's Oil Finder Website recommends , for my van with a QI8 option code, Helix Ultra ECT C2/C3 0W-30 as the Premium product, Helix Ultra ECT MULTI 5W-30 as the Standard option or Helix HX8 ECT 5W-30 as an alternative.
It also offers Helix Ultra Professional AV-L 0W-30 as another alternative.

I use Shell Helix Ultra Professional AV-L 0W-30 in mine, which is VW 507.00 spec.

A good, cheap alternative that I would recommend for anyone on a budget (though there is nothing budget about the product) is Smith & Allan Momentum C3, either 0W-30 or 5W-30 grade 504.00/507.00 spec oil. Priced between £83 and £86 for 20 litres plus postage. (under £10)

Those oil drums are exactly the same as my Millers Trident C3 5W30! Coincidence??
