Engine replacement cost?

Hi everyone. I have a 2017 caravelle executive that has broken down.
Did any of you ever had to get his Caravelle (or t6) engine replaced and how much did you have to pay for? Mine had internal damage due to camber belt parts broken and damaging the engine and I have been quoted two very different amounts, one of them will make the repair not viable.
Am I missing something? Are there any other components (i.e. DPF, Catalytic converter etc) that might not be quoted but added later as "oh you really need to do this as well"?
The van is not driveable as lost power and not switching on anymore
thanks for your help and info

Cam belt failure tends to lead to serious mechanical engine damage, but usually wouldn't require a new DPF or other such parts. You'd expect to replace certain things, such as the water pump, as a matter of course, because it's easy to do while the engine is being replaced and shouldn't cost too much. In fact a seized water pump can cause cam belt failure. If it's a manual you'd think carefully about replacing the clutch too.
Different places charge differently, you'd expect a main dealer to be significantly more expensive than an independent garage. If one of your quotes makes engine replacement non viable go with the other, unless you have concerns about them.
There are a lot of threads on here about engine replacement, try the search function at the top right of your screen.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
