ENGINE RUNS WITH KEY OUT!!!

Hello,
I was hoping for some info regarding a problem on my T6. Today I took it into an auto electricians, as the head unit kept flickering and eventually powering down, along with the wolfbox dashcam mirror.

The guy who done the work said the 'little black box' behind the head unit was down and was causing the issue. He 'fixed it' and the head unit and wolfbox mirror were up and running again. No problems, until I got home and took the key out of the ignition. The engine kept running, plus the yellow glow plug warning light was flashing!!! After putting the key in and out of the ignition a few times the engine eventually stopped running. I rang the auto electrician, but they had closed early.
Obviously I'll be straight back to the garage first thing on Monday morning to get them to correct the problem, but in the meantime I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on what has gone wrong. I've read online that disconnecting the battery, then reconnecting it may well reset the problem and I might be able to use the van before I take it back on Monday. Any advice would be most welcome. Thanks in advance.

Sorry , its not an x police vehicle is it?

I understand that to reset, needs more than just disconnecting the battery. the leads need shorting together.

No mate it's not an ex-police vehicle, it's a 2017 van converted to a camper. It's been spot since we got it, apart from the after market head unit flickering and cutting out. I'm thinking the 'repair' he done to get it fixed has involved a wiring mistake connected to the ignition live or something. Whatever he's done behind the head unit has affected the ignition, so the engine still runs when the ignition is switched off and key is removed ???
Baffled.

Me too, it's got me baffled? Thanks for your comment, kind of blue
Friday nights or Saturday mornings can be a bit varied after work or day shopping with the Mrs perhaps and right now all this sunshine too, so Barby Q out or driving into the sunset to see the partial solar eclipse tomorrow morning or even if lucky, an aurora borealis / northern lights tomorrow evening if lucky.:)

Usually when I reply to someone they come on fast just in case I suggest doing the wrong thing. I have not reached the level of tea boy yet, so a long way to go and a lot to learn A bit like " your only meant to blow the bloody doors off" sort of thing
