Factory aux battery.. but converter can’t trace its supply

Hi - I've just had a 2019 HighLine converted to a camper and the workshop found a factory fitted battery under the (single) passenger seat. They couldn't trace what it was supplying, and how it was charged. Any ideas?

That’s a bit worrying. Do you have any thick gauge red cabling underneath the seat that looks similar to those in these threads:
Oh and welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the prompt reply!! Yes - there is thick red cable and a venting tube as described elsewhere, so I'm guessing it is a factory fitted option. Shame I didn't know before the conversion, could have saved a few quid!

As per those threads, it’ll be fed directly from the main battery via the e-box. Depending on your charger, this may mean it needs its own ignition-live trigger.
As we’re on the subject of things that appear to have caught your converter off guard, what charger have they fitted... hopefully not a VSR?

I’ve got a factory leisure battery, nobody has ever raised it as an issue, in fact @Absolut5 moved mine from passenger to driver side in order to fit a sub.

I’d be mildly concerned if your converter doesn’t know where it’s fed from.

Edit, the battery doesn’t feed anything from the factory unless you’ve had something added at that stage like a heater.

My leisure battery now powers my 12v sockets, ceiling lights, ICE and Webasto heater.

Bit concerning the converter didn’t notice another battery ?
He noticed it, just didn't know what it fed!! In fairness, I chose him primarily because of his cabinet making skills! I've got access to a more specialised vehicle electric contractor if there's a problem.

He's installed Victron Connect kit to manage solar panel output and battery charging.
