I've got the VW factory fitted Eberspacher parking heater, which has this controller above the rear view mirror.
Works brilliantly, apart from one thing.
You can't (from what I've checked in the instructions) dim the controller when it's running.
Which means at night if you're sleeping in the van, you have the equivalent of a light on whenever the heater is running! If I'm on a site it's not too bad as I'll be using my external windscreen cover and can draw my cab divider curtain. But if I'm parked up somewhere I won't be using the exterior cover and although I'd have the interior curtains pulled, the heater controls will basically light up the entire cab area for anyone within a mile to see!
So, I'm wondering if anyone has come up with a solution to this problem? I'm thinking that a sliding cover mounted around the controller which can be slid forward to cover it would be perfect?
