Fault code 7F 2F 7F Transporter T6 2016

Hi, I've just started using VCDS trying to diagnose a no-start condition on my 2016 Transporter T6. Upon the first launch of the program, I was able to bleed the fuel system one time.
On 2. try now most of the tests Output Test functions not working, all reporting 'Refused by Control Module' 7F 2F 7F .

Need to bleed the car more.

Tried with another computer, tried with starter gas so it runs a bit.
It is a Hex+can <->usb i use.
I see on forum maybe cabel to old.

I can’t help with the specific problem but I use the same cable on a 2017 without issue, so I’m pretty sure it’s not caused by the older cable. They are good to 2018 MY
Is it not the case that you need to put a password in?

I think you need completely back out of the controller (close/reopen the connection) between tests. Just click on Done/Close to get to VCDS main menu, and start by reselecting the engine (reopening the connection). On some functions ignition need to be recycled to initialize the controller - especially when configuration changes are made.

Tried that, not working.

Fuel Bleeding(Ran out of fuel) will not start

Sorry to appear dumb but Im told i need to activate control modes

Can someone recommend a diagnostics tool which is not mega expensive?
I have a 2015 T6 which has run out of fuel and despite 1/2 tank refuses to start
I have downloaded a manual and it is telling me to connect diagnostics to activate the fuel pump.
Can someone help?
