Fault Code Reader

Hello, Just wondered if there was any advice on buying a fault code reader, as our T6 has an ongoing issue with glow plug light coming on (not flashing) and going into limp mode. It will reset and sometimes the engine management light comes on. It has had a new turbo so don't suspect any issues with that or intercooler pipework. Its had the same issue before the turbo was changed.

Thanks

Graham

Carista is the option I went for, and is popular on here. You can buy it on Amazon and you get a free trial of its full functionality before deciding whether to commit to a subscription.

It’s a bluetooth dongle that you insert into the OBD port under the dash, drivers side. Your phone then reads the information. You can read and clear codes, but also modify some things like automatic door locking when you drive away. Totally worth it in my view.

If you want to get more fancy you can use VCDS, which looks at coding in a more detailed way, but others will have a better description than I can give.

Hi, thanks for the info on the fault code reader! Anyone experienced the symptoms described and found a solution!

Any help appreciated.

You’ll get the most useful response once you’ve identified the actual codes that are coming up.

Hi All, Further to my original post here are the fault codes that I have downloaded using Carista:

P0236 - Turbocharger/ Supercharger Boost Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance

P13D6 - Manufacturer-specific code

24936 - Sensor for internal pressure of cylinder 3: Implausible signal

30251 - Turbocharger Boost Sensor (A) Circ.: Range/ Performance

Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated.
