Just interested to hear your first impressions of your t6, as there are a few of us with new vans on here at the moment.

Me being a vw virgin, i have been reading some of your comments with interest.

Engine wise, as i had the 140 for a while , i can say that this E6 lump his impressed a lot so far more than the i40 ever did. I have only done 600 miles in my first month of ownership so i hope it stays that way.
The dsg has also been a dream to drive, i just love getting in the combi and driving you dont have to do anything but steer everything is done for you, how lazy is that!,
The ride Has also surprised me for a t32, i did expect it to be a bit hard but it seems fine and handles ok too.
All the equipment is working fine so far, i find the heater very slow to get some heat going but the rear heater really gets the whole combi cooking when we are all up and running. I think its me just getting use to setting it right.
The twin electric doors are also fantastic, i wish the tailgate was the same but they were not available when i ordered.

Im sure i will have some issues as we go on but the first 4 weeks have been good start :)

We had a T5.1 2012 180 4motion Cali for just over three years and had some great times in it but it was plagued with problems and eventually had to go.
I was pretty annoyed at the time but we searched the market and came back to the T6; new engine, new emissions system and a few improvements.
We finally got it and realised we could get a 5 year factory warranty;ideal.
And the roof is actually waterproof.
It's much better on fuel.
It's quicker.
It's quieter.
The dash actually looks quite good; not some low rent van thing.
The upstairs has proper lighting.
The front has a proper roller blind screen.
The tech is much better.
It comes in nicer colours.

The list of improvements is far longer than expected and we're well chuffed with it; a five week Euro trip (we did two similar trips in the old one) confirmed it's definitely much better.

@StudleyGlass your van should warm up quite quickly .
When you get the rear heater ,they fit an auxiliary heater ,which helps warm the water ,it also kicks in below 5° .
If you open your drivers door ,look on the end of the door there should be a sticker saying webasto thermo top heater .
If you have this it is possible to fit a kit with either a timer or remote control to switch the heater on and pre warm the water .

I have ordered the auxiliary heater option as my T5.1 is so slow heating up. I did not bother with the other heater option as they seemed a boit of money for functions I would. It use much but I would be interested in adding the remote function if that can be done. @carlg do you know what's needed and what the cost would be.

Agree with everything you've said @StudleyGlass , I've now done about 700 miles in mine and always really look forward to driving it. I feel like I've bought more than just a vehicle, I've bought a hobby and a lifestyle !

I sent the company a message and they said it comes with English instructions .
,I looked on kufatec UK but they don't have it listed yet for a t6 only for T5 .

I had kit put on my T5.1 it worked great ,engine up to temp before you set off .

There's nothing like that in mine just temp and fan control next to the dsg to control the rear heater unit. the roof vents work with the front stuff i think but can't feel much coming out of them really

The heater is under the floor below passenger seat .,look for the sticker on the drivers door .There are no controls for it ,it just works on demand or temperature .

I love the fact that you can change the VCDS coding to customise so many other things. Never had a van, but high powered Audi's, but am not looking back after buying my T6. Totally agree with the comment that I've bought into a lifestyle.
There was a thing that was annoying me a bit, but I think I have figured that out on a journey today. I always have the heater set to blow air on the windscreen, and have noticed that unless the temperature setting is on cold, the air is roasting. Today I put the direction control to throw the air forward onto the occupants, and the temperature actually dropped to what I felt it should have been based upon the dial being around the 20deg mark. My conclusion, its obviously meant to do this to heat the windscreen quicker and more effectively.
My limiting factor is money as I have so much on the to do list, I want to complete it all yesterday.
