I've read a fair bit about how to use VCDS and interpreting the results is going to take some time , so wondered if anyone could cast an eye over these?
I had no real reason to use the VCDS tool I purchased a few months ago until I randomly had the engine light appear on the dashboard yesterday afternoon.
On Sunday I drove about 30 miles on mostly A roads and everything was ok, no lights or anything to indicate an issue, but when I got home the fan noise from the engine bay was really loud, much louder than I'd heard previously. I thought it must just need to do its DPF cycle or something. I didn't give it any more thought.
Moving forward to yesterday (hadn't driven it since Sunday) I started the engine and the fan noise started immediately, which it has never done before and the engine light came on the dashboard. It stayed on, so loud I could feel it resonating in the cab. I drove around hoping it would go off, for at least an hour, including some 70mph dual carriageway driving. The noise only stopped when I turned the engine off, eventually. Same story this morning driving to work.
On my lunch break I decided to use VCDS for the first time and ran an auto test. Cleared the faults, then ran it again. The result is below. Anyone else had a similar result the first time and does anyone know what might be causing issue I described?
