I'm contemplating selling my beloved Road bike, simply because all of my bike mates have switched to MTB riding, and it's not much fun riding alone, so every ride has been off road this year pretty much. (not that I mind)
It's sacrilege such a high end bike is not getting used, so selling it to fund a new much better MTB than my current one. I'm aware a bike of this value is not easy to sell, but thought i'd pop it on here first as I always do.
2016 Focus Cayo Di2.
Focus for those that haven't looked into this brand is German, hence why I picked this brand. They are super high quality, and the backup from Focus is very good, (not that i've ever needed to use it) The bike has been faultless since new. I also have a Focus MTB which is no where near as high end as this, but it's had more abuse than any bike i've owned, and used a lot more, but never goes wrong. (by abuse, I mean it's been used at places like Sherwood Pines and Cannock chase for what's it's meant for)
If the road bike sells, I will be sticking with this brand for the next bike.
The bike cost me nearly £5000 to put together over 2016/17 in a quest for lightness (last weighed in at under 7kg), I swapped the Focus wheels for a set of Vision Carbon wheels at £1200. This is by far the most noticeable upgrade to a road bike, and gives it a much faster ride and steer.
The bars and stem were swapped for Pro versions.
3T Iconic Limited seat post and Carbon rail San Marco seat that cost a small fortune, but well worth the extra money.
Full Ultegra Di2, which if you haven't tried electronic gear changing, are a huge leap forward in gear technology.
Full Ultegra groupset, including peddles.
New set of Continental Gatorskin tyres, which are super grippy this time of year.
Carbon bottle holders.
The bike is size Large. I'm around 5f.10 and it's been set-up for me, but there's loads of adjustment either way. The whole bike was serviced about 50 miles before it was last used, including any Di2 updates. It's been super pampered as you'd expect from me and it's in lovely condition.
I want around £2500 for the bike, and it's a lot of road bike for this kind of money. It's ready to pick up and use straight away, but as usual, i'm happy to help with any delivery if i'm passing or in your area.
