Hi all , it was pointed out to me tonight that my reversing light is red . On checking , my fog light is white.
Looking at reversing light , looks like a wee red lens cover over bulb . Can these be swapped ?
Back to dealer for advice if not , but cant get for a few days..

There was a report on here a few months back of someone with a RHD vehicle having LHD rear lights on from factory. I shall try and find it.

So much for the pdi then! Get them to remove from a new vehicle, or expedite next day, as you could at worst case get points.... Their problem!

I know somebody who had the same and on inspection it had LHD headlights fitted too !
I would go straight back to the dealer and they will sort it, it’s not a big job swapping lights over if that’s what’s required

Dealer it is then ......
Have to set off on a 900 mile round trip @ 6 in the morning tomorrow though...
Oddly enough , I have had to return rear seat bench seat cover twice now to a reputable online seller , they tell me I have a LHD rear triple seat in my RHD van ?
The dealer did supply the van with wrong reg number on the plates ( which I drove with for 2 days before I realised ) so not much faith in pdi !
Just as well I absolutely love the van , or I would be getting grumpy !

Now I’m confused here. Are the rear lights clusters really different in LHD and RHD vehicles? Have to admit that my experience on RHD vehicles is next to null.

If the van has tailgate with regular rear lights (not LED) my thought was that fog light and reversing light bulbs both are of same H21W/P21W type, fog light just having red cover on it. So it would need just to move the cover to another bulb. This is how I understand what owner’s manual on page 440 states.

Thanks , pm sent
Have run your VIN number through and all checks out ok, have PMd you some details
Have looked at the lighting units on your van and the ones shown 'as fitted' by etka are correct for UK
For reference your rear light part numbers should begin 7E0 and your headlight part numbers should begin 7E2, LHD headlights will begin 7E1 but it is also labelled on the top of headlight stating which vehicle type they fit so should be easy to check if you flip the bonnet up

Out of interest which side is your reverse light on ?
UK vehicles with single reverse light should be on the drivers drive

Thats interesting, our reverse light is also on the passenger side, standard rear lights, Fog light drivers side, this is as our T4 was also.

Hi , Thanks for the info , Fog is on drivers side , reverse on left side

So they are fitted to the correct sides of the vehicle.

You may just have the bulbs in the wrong holders - upload a photo and someone with the same lights will be able to confirm (some tailgate cans have the reverse at the bottom, others at the top).

I find it very strange how a RHD vehicle can leave the factory with LHD lights fitted and it’s not the first time we have heard this !

Makes you wonder how many people are happily driving around in their van with something missing or something incorrect fitted non the wiser ?

Good to hear you got it sorted though mate

That's one of the reasons why I have often wondered if members with vans that have a strong pull to one side have a vehicle that has been set up for "continental" driving instead of UK.

thanks for help & replies .
Now , if I can just get the rear triple kombi seat cover sorted - two sent back already and supplier tells me its a LHD rear triple in a RHD van ( I have my doubts though , looks the same as other UK ones I've seen )

I have thought about continental set up , but , surely RHD set up would all be for UK ? eg if RHD then fog to driver side ?
Bit of a mystery though.
